Description

Skinitril is a medical device intended for the removal of fibromas, molluscum lesions and condylomata (genital warts).

The product works by disrupting the tissue at the application site through acid hydrolysis. The affected tissue subsequently undergoes necrosis (dies) and is shed. At the same time, the tissue undergoes mummification, leading to necrosis and subsequent shedding. Shortly after application, the treated tissue usually turns white. Over the following days, a dry, dark crust forms and gradually detaches.

If the product is used to remove skin lesions in close proximity to the eyes, mouth, external genitalia or anus, it must be applied by a healthcare professional.

Please read the instructions carefully before use. The product is intended for use by adults. For molluscum lesions, the product may also be used in children aged 6 years and over. The product must be applied by an adult who is properly familiar with the instructions for use. The solution is highly corrosive.

The pack contains 0.5 g of solution and 12 glass capillary tubes.

For safe use, it is essential that the user correctly identifies the types of skin lesions for which the product is intended. The distinguishing features of the different lesion types are as follows:

Molluscum contagiosum is a highly contagious viral skin infection characterised by small, pearly papules with a central indentation. It occurs most commonly in children and less frequently in adults. The lesions are most commonly found on the face, neck, hands and genitals and may be accompanied by itching.

Fibromas are benign growths composed of connective tissue. They are skin-coloured or may be darker. They are smooth and either attached by a thin stalk or present as a soft nodule and may be up to 10 mm in size. Fibromas may also have a firmer structure (skin fibromas), meaning that they are harder and often develop in areas subject to friction, such as the neck, armpits, groin or under the breasts.

Condylomata (genital warts) are viral skin growths that appear on the genitals and around the anus. These are soft, wart-like growths that may occur individually or in clusters, sometimes with a cauliflower-like structure. They may be pale, pink, reddish or flesh-coloured. They range in size from barely visible to several millimetres.

Simplified Instructions for Use

The solution is highly corrosive. The product must be used strictly in accordance with the instructions for use.

  • Wear appropriate protective equipment when handling the product.
  • Before use, check that the bottle and packaging are intact.
  • Make sure the treatment area is clean and dry.
  • Using the supplied capillary tube, apply the solution only to the lesion being treated. Use the smallest possible amount to prevent the solution overflowing onto healthy skin.
  • You may experience tingling, a burning sensation or mild pain during application. The treated tissue will usually turn white afterwards.
  • Leave the product on for 10–15 minutes after application, then rinse the area thoroughly under running water.
  • Over the next few days, the treated tissue will gradually dry out and darken.
  • If reapplication to the same area is necessary, wait at least 10–14 days, and only reapply once the area has completely healed and the dead tissue has detached.
  • Do not apply the product to the same area more than four times.
  • If any irritation following application becomes more severe, for example if inflammation develops, consult a doctor.
  • The capillary tubes are intended for single use.
  • Skin lesions located near the eyes, mouth or anogenital area may only be treated by a healthcare professional.

Warnings

The product is strongly corrosive and contact with healthy skin outside the application site must be avoided.

Restrictions on use:

Do not use this product for purposes other than its intended use or on malignant skin lesions, healthy or inflamed skin, freckles or keloids. When used near the eyes, mucous membranes or the anogenital area, the product must be applied by a doctor.
